LOCATION

Galmpton Park is nestled between Torbay and the Dart Valley in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is a small and well-kept development of 46 privately owned holiday bungalows. If you love peaceful, rural tranquility with amenities and interesting places to visit nearby, it is heavenly.

When you stay here, you can leave your car behind as there is so much available within easy reach. A convenient 10 minutes walk away is Galmpton village where you will find the local pub, village store and post office, family butcher and hairdresser.

It is well situated for beaches too with three close by – Broadsands beach (1.4 miles) as well as dog-friendly Goodrington Sands (2.5 miles) and Elberry Cove (1 mile). Agatha Christie’s former home, the captivating Greenway House & Gardens (now National Trust), is just a mile down the road and a must-see during your stay.

The park also offers superb views of the River Dart, across to Dartmoor in the distance. You can take a walk down to the Creek in 10 minutes, passing a gorgeous view of the Dart on the way.

The area has plenty of appeal for dog owners or keen walkers. There are fantastic walks from the doorstep but don’t expect a level walk, this is Devon! Our favourite takes you down Mill Lane to the shore of the river with stunning views along the way. Just a stroll away is a dog-friendly village pub, The Manor Inn.

REVIEWS
I want to first preface this review by saying, Katie -who helps manage the property on behalf of the owner, is EXCEPTIONAL. Truly an absolute gem! Not only did she save us many a time (due to WiFi issues/blackout) but was incredibly helpful & knowledgeable about the area, & accommodating of our needs

Which brings me “nicely” onto the review of the property itself

For a short stay, this place is ideal. However if you are perhaps non driving folk (like myself/mum), & if you’re hoping to stay longer than a weekend, be aware that not everything is within walking distance, or as “smooth sailing” within the property as you would expect (considering the price paid to stay)

As aforementioned, Katie was incredibly diligent in helping us out throughout the various difficulties experienced (WiFi not working, blackout due to not enough money left on the meter for our stay) but I do feel this should not have been an issue to begin within, & did sadly impact our enjoyment during our stay.

Spent a week in “Little Greenway” with my other half, and what a lovely location.
It’s right in the middle of some beautiful walks and some stunning locations. Just a short drive to some great attractions and some pieces of history.
The place itself was spotless and clean and was very modern. Felt way bigger than it shows in the photos to.
Beautiful place, great host, would happily book Little Greenway again.

Perfect for a couple, the unit has been beautifully modernised with everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Everything worked very well, though the need to have coins for the electricity meter was an unexpected, extra concern. There are some outstanding walks directly from the site and parking at the property makes access to the areas many attractions very easy. We were delighted with the accommodation, which more than deserves five stars.

The setting is just stunning with views of the Dart from the park- fabulous for sunsets.
The park is small and friendly with all privately owned bungalows that are well cared for. The site is attractive and planted with trees and shrubs.
The bungalows are small, for sure, but they are thoughtfully equipped and perfect for singles and couples. The main market seem to be couples with or without a dog. The area caters so well for dogs and walkers.
The village is a 10 minute walk (not flat) with a good general store/post office and pub!
You feel like you're in the middle of countryside but a stones throw from all facilities.

We stayed in The Jays at the end of March 2022. Despite being a very cold week outside, inside we were lovely and snug. Our arrival was straightforward, getting the key from the key safe box and when we walked through the door we were very impressed. The whole bungalow was delightful and spotless. We had everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay. The small site has lovely views down to the river Dart, is nicely kept and when we were there it was quiet. We will definitely book again.

Absolutely fantastic. Very clean, tidy, well maintained little gem of a place. We had a lovely time visiting all the nearby villages. Totnes for the Friday Market is a must. Had a good walk with our dog down to Dartmouth and also enjoyed a walk into Brixham. We also visited Salcombe. The bungalow itself is in a lovely location surrounded by countryside and the river Dart. On a couple of mornings the frost made it look very picturesque I'm sure that it is magical throughout the seasons. The sofa and bed were extremely comfortable just what is needed after a day walking. We would definitely stay again and is highly recommended.

Just had a lovely week staying in Spindrift t
We really liked and enjoyed the property
I think either we, or someone within our party have now stayed in most of the different bungalows at Jenny Wren over the past 5 years.
Spindrift delivered on everything we needed for our stay as do all of the other properties we have seen and stayed in.
The bungalows are fantastic value for money and ideally situated to explore the Torbay area, we visited Salcombe this time and it is well worth a visit.
I have no hesitation in recommending Jenny Wren Holidays to anyone,
Katie is so helpful and the bungalows are all immaculately presented, can't think of anywhere better!!

Just returned from a 10 night stay at the Crows Nest. Can I just say how wonderful it was, the bungalow was immaculate, and had everything we needed, fluffy towels, huge comfy bed, it was very big inside and the private decking area was really nice. Lovely place to sit with a bottle of wine and watch the sun go down. The welcome pack was very much appreciated and the Lemon biscuits were delicious, nice little touch. We have stayed on this site 6 times now and this bungalow was the biggest and defiantly one of the best we have stayed in. We will defiantly be back and would recommend it to all. (I promise not to lose the key next time x)
Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Stayed at The Jay's. Fantastic accommodation. Immaculately clean and great size bedroom with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Super comfy bed. Good size TV and really comfy reclining 2 seater settee. We felt really comfortable there during our 1 week stay. Lovely garden area. Absolutely beautiful, tranquil place to stay. We could've easily stayed longer. Definitely recommend 🙂

We stayed the week of 24th to 31st July in Dart Vale. The chalets are well equipped and spacious for two people. It was great to have an outdoor space to be able to eat outside when the weather was good enough. The location is amazing, in beautiful countryside, but with easy access to places to visit and things to do. We were able to walk direct from the chalet to a coastal walk and to Agatha Christie’s house. We also went in the steam train, it was a bit of a shame that the local station was not operating. All in all a great break.

Compact but perfectly formed accommodation that suited my party of three.
The space is well laid out and has everything that we needed for our week long stay. It was very clean and well presented on arrival and everything was ready for us.
The location is excellent for visiting all of Torbay. It is easy to get to by car but if you can manage the ten minute walk to the bus stop there is an every 10 minutes service to all the coastal towns of Torbay. This really took the stress out of finding car parking spaces as we visited in peak season.
The site that where the accommodation is situated is quiet and full of friendly people. With a reserved car parking space right outside the front door it makes arrival and departure a breeze.

What a find!
We stayed at Dart View, which is on the end of a row and has incredible views over the river Dart. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook our own meals and the whole property was very clean and tidy, which gave us peace of mind given the current covid situation. The host, Katie, could not have been more helpful, we had a little one with us and she recommended Dart View because of the enclosed patio which he loved!
The highlight for us was the location, Galmpton is a gorgeous little village with a pub and butchers (fantastic meat!), Greenway National Trust site is a 10 minute walk down a quiet lane and Dittisham is just across the river. The walk down to the ferry then lunch at the harbour side pub in Dittisham was our favourite jaunt.
We will definitely be back to stay at the site as soon as we can, thank you Katie for a wonderful trip!

We booked the Laura Lee bungalow almost last minute. The communications from Jenny Wren Holidays were helpful and so informative regarding the bungalow, local area, walks, places to eat etc. All most welcome, we have visited the area many times over the last 50 years or so and is one of our favourite uk holiday spots. The bungalow was warm, welcoming, beautiful decorated and well equipped and the site is in a picturesque spot. Would highly recommend.
