Hillview has been lovingly refurbished by the new owners and now offers stylish and comfortable accommodation for up to 4 guests. The fully enclosed, south-facing patio benefits from an extended raised seating area that offers beautiful views over the River Dart.
Open the front door and you step into an open-plan living space, kitted out with everything you need. The style is informal with the kitchen at one end and the lounge/diner at the other.
There are two bedrooms, a double and a bunk bedded room, sharing a shower room so it works well for a couple and two children over 6 years old.
When it’s sunny outside, head to the patio from where you can see lovely views over to the River Dart. It’s a great place to sit together with drinks and plan interesting days out in the surrounding area.
Galmpton Park is nestled between Torbay and the Dart Valley in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is a small and well-kept development of 46 privately owned holiday bungalows. If you love peaceful, rural tranquility with amenities and interesting places to visit nearby, it is heavenly.
When you stay here, you can leave your car behind as there is so much available within easy reach. A convenient 10 minutes walk away is Galmpton village where you will find the local pub, village store and post office, family butcher and hairdresser.
It is well situated for beaches too with three close by – Broadsands beach (1.4 miles) as well as dog-friendly Goodrington Sands (2.5 miles) and Elberry Cove (1 mile).
Agatha Christie’s former home, the captivating Greenway House & Gardens (now National Trust), is just a mile down the road and a must-see during your stay.
The park also offers superb views of the River Dart, across to Dartmoor in the distance. You can take a walk down to the Creek in 10 minutes, passing a gorgeous view of the Dart on the way.
The area has plenty of appeal for dog owners or keen walkers. There are fantastic walks from the doorstep but don’t expect a level walk, this is Devon! Our favourite takes you down Mill Lane to the shore of the river with stunning views along the way. Just a stroll away is a dog-friendly village pub, The Manor Inn.
