The Nook is a gorgeous cottage for two in Buckfastleigh, South Devon. It is oozing with character and charm.
The open plan living room comes complete with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and sofa in front of the log burner, perfect for cosy nights in after a stomp on Dartmoor and the beautiful surrounding Devon countryside. The quirky double bedroom is bright and spacious with exposed beams and ensuite shower room.
The Nook is a perfect romantic getaway, located in the heart of Buckfastleigh, a quaint and traditional Devon market town with plenty of local shops, cafes and pubs.
The Nook does not have allocated parking but you are provided with a virtual parking permit for the duration of your stay which can be used in the three town-centre car parks, the nearest is just a short 1 or 2 minute walk away.
The attractive market town of Buckfastleigh sits on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. It is a scenic location, by the rivers of Dart, Mardle and the Dean Burn.
Originally a thriving market town for wool production, Buckfastleigh is brimming over with echoes from its past. Ancient mills, characterful cottages, a 13th century church and a Benedictine Abbey are very much part of this thriving small town.
A cottage in Buckfastleigh gives you a chance to experience living in a historic home, with easy access to local shops, a farmers’ market (Thursdays), galleries, restaurants, glorious country walks and pubs. You may also like to try out the town’s outdoor swimming pool, skate park, tennis courts and bowling green.
Explore further afield for beaches and the coastal villages of Torbay, just half an hour drive away. Totnes is the nearest train station, just 15 minutes’ drive from Buckfastleigh, with trains to Exeter and Plymouth.

The host Katie gave nice and clear instructions and was a pleasure to deal with. The cottage is very small and perfect for a little getaway for a few nights, and is located very close to some shops and pubs in a quiet little village.
